Do I need a foot care nurse?
If you have any challenges to inspecting your feet such as difficulty with your vision, bending over or the sensation of your feet you should have someone check your feet every day for you. If you have any health issues that place you at high risk of foot damage you should see a certified foot care nurse every 60 days or call right away if you find a problem.

What is a certified foot nurse?
A foot nurse certified through WOCN has received a bachelor degree in nursing and then received further hands on training and education specific to the legs and feet. They have been trained to assess the circulation, neurology, skeletal structure, and the skin of the legs and feet. They sit for a rigorous exam to prove their training. They do not replace a doctor or a podiatrist. They can however communicate to your primary care doctor to save you from multiple appointments.
